The Little Manistee River’s coldwater springs, woody habitat and rich bio-diversity creates outstanding fly fishing for the wild trout population. Spectacular rainbows, well-fed browns and vividly-colored brook trout can be watched from the cabins every evening as they rise to the prolific insect hatches which sustain the exceptional trout fishery.
In the Fall, great migrations of King and Coho Salmon move up the river, followed by the Steelhead run which continues through the Winter months and peaks in early Spring. Early Spring hatches of stonefly, mayfly and caddis start the trout season in dry fly fashion and summer hatches keep the trout looking up and feeding well, all the way into Fall. Fly fishing schools and casting lessons are available for groups, or private casting lessons can be made by appointment. Guided fishing trips can be arranged by reservation.
